Vintage Toshiba Rt-200s Boombox Stereo Cassette Player AM/FM Radio Super Clean.
At
only 18 in long, the rt-200s is rather small so it's not surprising that it doesn't produce much bass.
It's it's got a lots of style with its eye-catching chrome grills and tape keys.
It is cool LEDs that indicate the direction of tape travel.  It also has an auto reverse deck that lets you change sides that the push of a button. Or you can set it to automatically do that.
It has 12 cm woofers and 4 cm tweeters.  According to the service manual cub it's power output is 2x4 Watts at 10% distortion

This vintage Toshiba rt-200s is a stunner.
Let me begin with the issues; the tape deck isn't spinning which tells me it needs a new belt, (common for this age and this model), and the buttons for the tape deck also show a little bit of wear from the years.
The other strike would be that the battery door cover is missing and one battery terminal has very light corrosion which I've highlighted in picture 9.  A dry toothbrush seems to remove a lot of that corrosion
Outside of these issues we have a boombox in really stellar condition.  It was clearly very well taken care of over the years and has its original antenna, handle, power cord and all knobs.
The radio works beautifully and when you dial in to a nice stereo channel it really kicks.
Auxiliary also works as it should.
There are the few errant, superficial scratches but nothing profound and absolutely nothing that detracts from the overall aesthetic.
If you've been waiting for the right vintage boombox to show up on the market then your day may have come.
