    Description

    This doll is quite a mystery to me, as she is unmarked and has quite an unusual look with sad, big brown eyes.  I have 2 tags attached to her written by the original adult collector, dated 1964.  I've taken pics of the tags that state the doll was
    purchased in 1964 at an antiques show
    , and the she is
    "a Korean-American doll, her daddy was a g.i.".
    Whether she was meant to depict a Korean American or not, she is unique, and I've never seen another doll like her in over 30 years of doll collecting.  As a child, I always lamented how dolls were usually blonde and blue eyed.  This little doll will add some diversity:)
    This cute toddler is 11" tall, and she is made out of a
    squishy vinyl
    , not the harder blown vinyl.  She has pretty shiny black hair arranged into 2 long braids down her back.  Her face paint is nice, and her amber brown sleep eyes are clear with molded eyelashes.  Her eyes need a nudge to shut when she lies down, and another nudge to open them when she stands.  You can see when her eyes are shut that she has a bit of a scrape on the paint of the left eyelid (left in the pic), and there's a much smaller tiny scrape on the right eyelid's paint.  Around the bottom of the eyes where lower eyelashes would be, is a small metal? edge that shows slightly.  This edge looks kind of odd, like it has scraped paint or a tiny bit of corrosion?  It's not obvious and doesn't look terrible, but it is there.
    Her body is jointed at hips and shoulders and doesn't have any cracks or stains.  I did notice a small slightly dark "shadow" mark 1/4" long by 1/8" wide on her right arm, near her elbow.  It's very subtle.  Her shirt is clean and untagged; it could be manufactured.  She wears cotton panties.  She has white mary jane shoes on too.
