    SONY CFS-1200 Boombox Vintage 1980’s AM/FM - Cassette Player, Equalizer, Tested.
    DOES IT WORK?
    Radio setting works great and sounds great! All Graphic Equalizers function properly. Cassette deck is clean with minimal dust and no pet hair.
    Tape setting: when I first inserted a cassette it did not want to spin. Rewind worked fine but the Fast Forward didn't seem to want to work while a Cassette was inserted. After trying it for a while and using REW and FF without a Cassette inserted, it seemed to work better, but not perfectly.
    I tried different Cassettes and eventually it was working but seemed to play a little slow. It sounded like a vinyl record that was either warped or playing slowly.
    Either the heads need to be cleaned or belts need to be replaced. I did read that certain Cassette styles may not be compatible with older Cassette players.
    The speakers have a faux wood grain and are detachable. They can also be wall-mounted. How cool is that?
    Antenna is in great condition, no bends.
    Condition is EXCELLENT! VERY CLEAN! One small blemish on top (shown in pictures), and a few small white spots on the right speaker (shown in pictures). No major scratches or chips in the unit. The battery compartment is clean; no signs that batteries were ever used in this machine. I did take pictures of this, but exceeded my photo limit.
