    Description

    Sanyo "Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder" portable stereo.
    Product number M9706.
    Battery compartment is clean, although not tested using batteries. Uses 6 D-cell batteries.
    Antennae scopes and moves around well.
    The AM/FM radio was tested first and it sounded good.... BUT when switched to cassette mode to test the cassette deck, the speakers crackled loudly. To me, it seemed like the right speaker was making all the noise. I could just barely hear the cassette playing, but it was playing. Also, rewind, fast forward, and eject buttons and functions all worked. I did not test to see if it would record.  When I switched back to AM/FM mode, the speaker continued to crackle loudly and i couldn't hear the radio.
    Again, the speakers seemed to (as far as I could tell) work fine at first, crackled loudly when I switched to cassette mode, then continued to crackle loudly when I switched back to AM/FM mode. Needs repair.
