Panasonic RX-5500 Boombox - Dirty, Yellowed and Untested
Panasonic RX-5500 boombox. 19" wide, 11" tall, 5" deep. Rough condition, heavily yellowed, covered with white paint splatter, grimy and dirty. There's no MIC MIXING knob and one of the screws that holds the handle in place is missing. I didn't notice any other missing parts but I'm not an expert so check the photos carefully, what you see is what you get. I used a couple damp paper towels to wipe off some of the dirt but that got old real fast so I'll leave the cleaning to the high bidder. I was able to listen to the radio and it sounded okay, but I think the selector switch is dirty or flaky, because I had to switch it back and forth a bunch of times before the radio came on. To my amazement, I was also able to play, rewind and fast-forward a cassette, but the audio output was low on the right side and even lower on the left side. Clearly this boombox needs to be fully cleaned and refurbished, so I will sell it untested, as-is, for parts or repair only. I will include a non-original power cord.
