    Description

The Battles of Rzhev occurred in the eastern front from January 1942 to March of 1943. Due to the white camouflage paint, we can assume that the soldier participated in the winter portion of the battles either in 1942 or 1943.
This helmet was found in Russia, last year by a friend who does metal detecting. It’s size is 64. As shown, it has rust, as well as its original green and painted white paint by its last owner during the war. The helmet is sturdy and doesn’t have any holes. It has an aluminum liner where your can see a little of its size stamp in that last picture. Although the helmet is the model 1940, it has an earlier aluminum liner usually meaning that the shell was produced early in the Russian Campaign before many of the steel liners were implemented. As shown, part of the leather is still intact but it is fragile and shouldn’t be handled if possible. I can’t see any rank or name on the leather portion. There is traces of the Wehrmacht decal, as shown.
This item contains no offensive markings!
