ORIGINAL GERMAN WW2 HELMET WITH LATVIAN NATIONAL COLORS -- LINER, BAND, RIVETS

Description

Here is a WW2 period German helmet recently obtained and came disassembled as seen in the scans (liner does fit perfectly inside the helmet). No idea why there are Latvian national colors on the left side (we were tempted to try and remove them to see what's underneath, but the previous owner said that the colors has been on the helmet during the 50+ years he had owned it and likely any decal underneath would have been destroyed by now, so it was not touched). Unfortunately, there is a burn mark on the soft, supple leather liner (see the two scans with front and back views of the burn site).
