DAK afrika korps pith helmet picked up by a vet as a souvenir. The inner cork molded helmet is completely fragmented, mostly into smaller pieces so the helmet has lost its rigidity. The cork pieces are mostly contained in the fabric out cover of the pith helmet. Unknown if German or Italian. Has manufacturer’s markings that I was unable to read underneath the inner headline leather band at the rear of the helmet. Has Arabic? marking on top of the vent hole. Marked “courtesy of Romnel’s Corps.” with a black marker and presumed to be done by a vet who picked up as a war trophy. Good for restoring or for parts. In decent condition considering its age. Will ship promptly and carefully.
