National Federation of Republican Women 1986 Silver Proof Medallion From England

I own a specialty advertising company, now in our 44th year - and I was in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm.   We are now in the semi-retirement stages and I am offering our somewhat unusual advertising pieces collected over the years.
Recently I discovered an unusual sample kit from a supplier who produced custom medallions and other related items in England.   Their name is "The Tower Mint", founder in 1976.   The Tower Mint is world renown for their designs and quality, and manufacture medallions for Queen Elizabeth II as well as other royalty.   They are the last remaining private mint in London.   This is a very high-end maker of custom minted coins and related items.
Here is a beautiful custom die struck proof silver medallion produced for the National Federation of Republican women in 1986.  One side features the association's distinctive logo design.   The reverse has the statue of Liberty and inscription 1886 - 1986.   The NFRW created this breath taking medallion to commemorate the 100th anniversary of France presenting America with this undying symbol of freedom.
The medallion is 1.5" in diameter and brilliant!   To create such a treasure requires many detailed and intricate steps.  As just a brief overview:   Once a design has been rendered to art, a master craftsman hand sculptures it in a special material.   From there steel dies are made, and before being hardened, a lead striking is produced.   the artisan closely inspects the striking for detail.   Then once the two piece die (front & back) has been approved, they are hardened.   Then as in minting coins, the medallion is struck.   Once completed, it is highly polished and re-inspected for quality control.   If not flawless, the medallion is rejected.   Those that meet the inspectors approval are hand gift packaged in custom boxes.   There is actually much more that goes into producing a fine medallion such as this, but my description gives you an idea of what is involved.
Although 34 years old, the medallion and accompanying chain are in as new, never worn condition.  Note - In my photos the custom gift presentation box appears "fuzzy".  However, in reality that is not how it is, but rather a reflection of light from my camera.
