M-40 German Helmet Original Shell

Up for sale is an original M-40 Model German Helmet, WWII. The manufacture HKP64 batch number 538.  The shell is original and great shape- no dings, no patched holes.  The exterior of helmet has been "repainted"  late war Dunkel (Dark Field Grey) with tan to represent a Normandy/Mediterranean campaign camouflaged helmet as observed in the later years of the war.
The metal liner band (without removing the leather) I am guessing appears original, including the split pins which are brass, late war.  The leather liner I'm not so quiet sure. The leather appears correct, its old / stiff,  correct pattern and has a darker brown look which indicates its a possible  afterwar re-issue or if original, it was re-sanitized, leather darkened,  Helmet has no chin straps.
Either way, this is a very nice helmet, solid shell, nice M40 style in  shell size 64.
