JVC VINTAGE BOOMBOX RC-838JW II STEREO AM/FM CASSETTE RADIO original owner works

Up for sale is my JVC RC-838JW II boombox ghetto blaster. I am the original owner. This was given to me as a gift brand new. I remember my Uncle telling me he went down to Canal Street in Manhattan to buy this, at one of the many electronics shops that were located in that area. This works, on AM, FM and the tape. Please note the tape works but when you first turn it on it is slow. This probably means it needs new belts as they are the original. Also when you eject the tape it opens slowly so it will need some attention. The shortwave part of the radio I don't hear anything other than static. As you can see from the photos one protective plastic grille is missing from the tweeters, one plastic trim piece is missing from the top of the radio by the volume control. One tip of the antenna is damaged. The other antenna is intact but it has a slight bend to it. The radio works with a power cord, however one is not included as I don't have the original and took one off another radio to test this out. I tried it with eight D cell batteries and I could not get it to work.  I am not sure why. The battery compartment is clean and all and all a nice example of a vintage boombox. This has been taking space in my closet but now it has to go!
