Frankhoma 1971 GOP Elephant Mug Vintage Political Collectible.
John Frank first designed a 5 oz. elephant mug as a fund raiser for the National Republican Women's Club in 1968. It was so successful that the mug was added to the production line the following year, turning it into another collector series. (Naturally the Nixon/Agnew ticket winning the election helped in the decision as well). The
mugs were produced until 2005 when the Frankhoma plant officially closed.
I am offering for sale this BLACK mug with 1971 making this mug 52 years old!!  The bottom identifies the U.S. Pat. #0215-868.  The mug has no cracks, chips or dings.  The colored spots in the outline on the bottom are from the black firing color.
