Description

Dance Africa is the nations largest festival dedicated to African dance and music put on by The Brooklyn
Academy of Music (BAM) usually in the spring. It was started in 1977 so this will be its 42nd year. The poster
you see here DanceAfrica '92 was actually a program from that year that had this drawing on the back of it.
I found it in a very small frame and moved it to a larger frame which I think works better. The frame size is
25.5 x 29.5. The program is actually 15.5 x 19.5. The artist who created this was Ahsana. I think the drawing
is quite appealing and captures the spirit of African dancing beautifully with an air of sophistication as well.
An interesting piece of artwork celebrating Africa, Brooklyn and this wonderful festival!
