This is an original WW2 D-Day invasion bring back from Utah Beach, German 709th Infantry Helmet. The helmet has Normandy camo on it and was captured by Cpl. William Jasko on Utah Beach and sent to a family member friend Deputy Sheriff Carl Wadman of Richmond Indiana, just following the landings on June 6, 1944. Before sending the helmet Cpl. Jasko too out the liner and the blue/grey color was put in by Jasko to better address the helmet. Also included is a copy of Jasko's Obituary.
William Jasko of Mountainside New Jersey served his country during WW2 in the 4th Infantry Division and was a member of one of the first units to attack the Germans on Utah beach during the D Day invasion. Jasko later went to serve in operations throughout Northern France as well as the liberation of Paris.
