Description
1980 Republican National Convention official items. Collection from the Chairperson of the Host Committee for the 1980 Republican National Convention in Detroit: All items are original and unused in as-new condition unless otherwise mentioned:Ceramic ashtray with logo; 5 .25" diameter, .75" tall;
Pen with cap: 5.25" long, blue ink, a "Big Red" pen by the Parker Pen Company, with box;
Pen & Pencil set with logos, 5.5" long, Parker Pen Co., in box with instructions printed inside box lid;
Foam/sponge Ronald Reagan: 11.75" tall, 6.25" wide, 1.5" thick with slight portions missing (Reagan's left hand area) as can be seen in photo;
Foam/sponge GOP logo: 9.5" tall, 10.2" wide, 1.5" thick with tiny portions missing as can be seen in photo
Metal Medallion commemorating the first GOP national convention in Michigan with obverse showing a then new John Portman-designed office and hotel complex known as "The Renaissance Center." Medallion was presented by Cadillac division of General Motors. The building was built by a division of Ford Motor Company in the late '70s but General Motors bought the building within the last 20 yrs and moved into it now for their Worldwide Headquarters; 2.5" diameter, 3/16" thick with presentation paper and blue carry bag with drawstring.
