Nice collection of dozens of historical pamphlets, mostly dealing with the Republican and Democratic conventions in 1888, also the electoral battles between Harrison and Cleveland, social issues, the tariff, tax law, poverty in Ireland, the Sumatran tobacco trade and much more. Incredible collection of rare original source documents. Condition is acceptable, leather over board covers are detached but present, pamphlets are in various states of decay depending on the paper, all are readable and serviceable, nothing is falling apart or crumbling away beyond mild edgewear and all pages are intact and unmarked besides a few contemporary inscriptions. Great candidate for a rebind. Extremely rare material in any condition, this is likely a unique collection of documents compiled and bound by a contemporary owner.
