    2008.Belarus. 425th anniv. of Nesvizh Castle. FDC
    The castle of Nesvizh was founded by prince N. K.  Radziwill the Orphan in 1583. It was constructed to a design by the Italian architect G. Bernardoni. The buildings of the castle were situated on the quadrangle square. They were surrounded by a high earthen rampart with bastions and an artificial moat filled with water. Therewasa wide roadandartificial reservoirsonthe river Usha.
    Formanytimes the castlewasdestroyed and reconstructed. In 1706 during the NorthWarthe castlewasravaged by Sweden troops. It was reconstructed and rebuilt in baroque after 1726 by the architect K. Zhdanovitch. Since 1945 there was a sanatorium. In 2000 they began the reconstruction of the castle during which the fire began on December 24, 2002.
    In 2005 Nesvizh Castle was included into the UNESCO World Heritage List
