This is a great record of an unusual presidential nominating convention.While the Vietnam War was winding down, McGovern was the candidate for accelerating the peace process, and support of environmental protection policies. His running mate, Thomas Eagleton, was eventually replaced by Sergeant Shriver because his previous treatment for depression was considered unacceptable and stirred up controversy leading to his extraconventional replacement. There is a great front page with a McGovern-Eagleton photo suitable for framing as are many of the pages throughout this collection.This is a rare and historic collection.
