Handsome fold-out 1971 Arco road map of Washington, D.C. and metropolitan Baltimore, printed more than 46 years ago.
The map opens to 37" x 25½" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally.
Baltimore is on one side, and the coverage area extends from Towson to Friendship International Airport.
A regional map of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area is on the other side, including Frederick, Annapolis, Alexandria, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Bethesda, with an inset of Mount Vernon, Virginia.
The map was distributed by the Atlantic Richfield Company in 1971 to promote its Arco brand. It is dated in the legend, and the code number in the lower margin is 716400-8.
The artwork on the back cover shows an Arco service station sign.
