1965 ATLANTIC REFINING Map MIAMI BEACH Coral Gables Hialeah Coconut Grove Graves
Handsome fold-out 1965 Atlantic Refining road map of the greater Miami area, printed more than 51 years ago.
The map opens to 18" x 33" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally.
The coverage area includes Hialeah, Coconut Grove, Virginia Key, Bal Harbour, Opa-Locka, Medley, Coral Gables, and Miami Beach.
The map locates the Graves Tract, between the Sunny Isles Causeway and N.E. 136th Street, and between U.S. 1 and the Intracoastal Waterway. This plot of land was designated for use by Interama, the Inter-American Center Authority, but the proposed center was never built.
This map was published by Atlantic in 1965 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 5-6072-6. The artwork on the front shows an Atlantic service station. There's a family in a red convertible on the back cover.
