The 1964 Republican National Convention in San Fransisco.
Johnson/Goldwater election.
Very nice piece from Shreve & Co, San Fransisco, known for their sterling silver business.  The detail on this cast piece is fantastic.
The raised lettering, the detail on the elephant - even shows the wrinkles on the elephant's back.
It weighs about 14 oz all by itself, so I would have hated to carry it around in my pocket throughout the convention.
Johnson won the election, this Republican piece is very collectible.
