Description
Handsome fold-out 1952 Atlantic road map of New York, printed more than 65 years ago.The map opens to 21" x 27" and has great detail on old highway alignments in the Empire State, with cartography by Rand McNally.
There's an inset map of lower New York and Long Island.
On the reverse side there's a map of the eastern United States and inset plans of Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Elmira, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Watertown, and Manhattan.
The map was distributed by the Atlantic Refining Company in 1952 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 2-423414-12. Population data is from the 1950 census.
The artwork on the back cover shows an Atlantic service station and button logos for the company's Hi-Arc and White Flash gasolines.
